Triple-mode AI tracking — three powerful modes run in parallel: Mimo ActiveTrack 8.0 for smart framing and multi-subject selection, the 2nd-gen AI Tracking Module for hardware tracking of people, cats, dogs, and inanimate objects in any camera app, and Direct Phone Connection Smart Tracking via NFC that works without opening any app at all.

Stabilization — the built-in tripod extends 22% further (67 mm to 82 mm) and the unfolding radius has grown by 25% (77 mm to 97 mm) compared to the OM8. A ring light status indicator communicates tracking state visually: breathing green signals active tracking, solid green indicates standby.

Audio (Vlog Combo) — the All-Purpose Vlog Combo bundles the DJI Mic Mini 2, a wireless lavalier with a semi-transparent gray-white design, interchangeable magnetic covers, and dual attachment options via clip or magnetic mount.

Battery & build — under stationary conditions the 3,350 mAh battery lasts approximately 10 hours; with continuous AI tracking and fill light at moderate brightness, expect 4–5 hours of real-world use. The USB-C port also supports reverse charging to top up the phone during a shoot.

Creative modes — beyond stability and tracking, the 8P offers low-angle shots, 360° unlimited rotation, the Hitchcock zoom effect, cinematic slow shutter for light trails, and a 2.35:1 widescreen mode via the Mimo app.
